Massimo Pulini was born in Cesena in 1958. His artistic activity began with the participation in the early 1980s in exhibitions curated by critics as Maurizio Calvesi, Italo Tomassoni and Italo Mussa, who were at the origins of artistic groups defined as Anacronists, Hypermanierists or, more generally, Colt Painting. Dealing with an issue, then, a long journey of individual research, always in dialogue with
the history of painting and with the memory, led him to caring big personal exhibitions in prominent mid-European spaces. For over twenty years he conducts research in the field of Art History. He is currently a Professor of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, previously he has taught in a number of Italian Academies.
