Itinere

Mustafa Sabbagh and Drusilla Foer

08/01/2013 - 17/03/2013

On the occasion of the 83rd edition of Pitti Uomo, Aria art gallery presents “Itinere”, an exhibition starting on January 7th, featuring three artists united in a single journey towards the unconscious. Mustafa Sabbagh, Drusilla Foer (alias Gianluca Gori), and Sara Bencini in their respective roles as photographer, muse and jewelry maker, marked by the important contribution of the stylist Simone Valsecchi, through the emotional twisting and the transformation of traditional aesthetic canons, reaching photographic fulfillment as an exasperation of the ego.

The excellence of Mustafa Sabbagh’s works confront with the world of unconventional scenic uniqueness: the acclaimed Drusilla Foer, alter ego of the multi-talented actor Gianluca Gori, lends himself with devotion to his master, interpreting and wearing with solemn totality the creations of Sara Bencini and Simone Valsecchi. The jewels are made with a thorny Baroque organicity, furrowing the most unexpected and secret results that a skilled stylist can forge.

Ten photographic works, two of which are diptychs, are shown in the rooms of Aria Art Gallery. “Itinere” is a journey through dark shoots of neo-Victorian inspiration, flanked by other with blush tones, sometimes in conjunction with ethereal landscapes. In addition, two installations, the first in the main room curated by Simone Valsecchi recreates the appearance of a blow Drusilla, the other in the third room where Sara Bencini will evoke the imagery of her jewels through filigree, baroque elements, stones, horns and relics.
